We manage inventory and availability for shared and private rooms separately out of the box. Private rooms are treated as single units regardless of guest count, while shared dorm rooms are sold on a per-bed basis so you never lose control over individual bed inventory.

Yes. You can list a 4-bed dorm as both individual beds and as a private quadruple room at the same time. Areca dynamically calculates availability to prevent double-bookings: if someone books the private room, all beds in that dorm are immediately removed from inventory; if even a single bed is booked, the private room option becomes unavailable.

Areca features real-time, two-way synchronization. Booking updates, cancellations, and availability shifts are synced instantly across major hostel platforms to eliminate double-bookings.

Absolutely. Areca includes a built-in Point of Sale (POS) that makes it easy to add extras and add-ons directly to a guest's reservation bill. If you already use an external POS system, we can integrate with that as well.

Very easy. Areca is engineered to be intuitive and beginner-friendly for front desk staff. To help seasonal teams stay on track, you can set custom check-in notes and reminders that automatically pop up during guest check-in, reducing human error and training time.

Data migration typically takes just 2 to 3 business days, depending on property size. Simply send us your exported bookings and guest data, and our team will import them directly into Areca so you don't miss a beat.

Areca uses a unit-based pricing model that is specifically designed to be cost-effective for hostels. A single private room counts as 1 unit, and a 4-bed dorm also counts as 1 unit (rather than 4 individual charges). Our pricing is transparent and available to view anytime on our pricing page.
